Sneyd for the past 30 years have had families training and competing in all manor of events here's just a brief history of a few of them.......The Davis family consisted of sensei Mick and sons Wayne and Craig and also daughter Kerry, Sensei Mick is one of the clubs chief instructors. Wayne went on to acheive his black belt and also win the Sneyd kids competition in 1995 and 1997..........The Richards family Lynn and Phil, daughters Donna and Amy son Simon and grandaughter Sophie. Lynn was a childrens instructor and a 2nd dan, Phil a 3rd dan and he was also a qualified referee, daughter Donna 1st dan......The Parker family were father Julian and sons Robert and Liam. Julian a 3rd dan and also was a children's and adult begginers instructor and he gave Sneyd their first dedicated web site. and sons Robert 1st dan and Liam 2nd dan both won the kids competition, Robert won in 1998 then brother Liam in 1999 and 2000.........The Fellows family Jeff and daughters Laura and Eve. Laura is a 1st dan and Jeff is a 2nd dan and was a childrens instructor.........And many more familys here are just a few .....The Duckhouse family...The Ford family...The Watts family....Moving more forward the Hassells, Carl and Iris and children Hannah and Edward, Carl is a 2nd dan and Iris 1st dan and she was also a childrens insructor, Hannah 2nd dan she also won the kids competition in 2003 and remains the only girl to win, Edward is a 1st kyu............ The Dinsdales, dad Ken mum Mandy and daughter Nikki, Ken is a 2nd dan, Mandy a 2nd kyu and Nikki is a 1st dan.........The Drakeley family dad Steve is a 2nd dan, daughter Ellie and now son Joe trains in the kids class..... The Hodson family consists of dad Dave mum Marie and daughters Kim and Beth all four are 1st dans Marie was also a childrens instructor Dave is a current childrens instructor........ The Bains family are Dad Prem and daughters Henna and Jayna, Prem is a 2nd dan and Henna and Jayna are both 1st dan's ....... The Masons, mum Jackie and her three sons Karl,Jack and Lee, Karl's a 3rd dan and former winner of the kids competition on no less than four occasions 2001,02,04,05, and Jack who is a 2nd dan is the 2008,09 and current kids champion, Lee is the latest member of the family to acheive 1st dan.........And not forgeting our mafia the Faraci's the Peakman's and the Tamilio's....The Tamilio family consist of dad Nic mum Lisa and kids Alessandro Carla and Enzo........The Randall family started with dad Ben, then son Calvin, and now with grandchildren Kyle and Sean. Sean has just started out and trains in the tigers class......The Stanfield family, mum Dawn and kids Leanne and Stacy........There are many more family's that have trained with the Sneyd and many individuals but we have all been in Sneyd's family.... any family left out and would like to be included please come and let me know or e-mail us .
The Big Two
At the end of every year we award two trophies. One is for the Club Champion and the other for Club Karateka.
Club Champion is awarded to the person who has been the most successful in the competition arena.
Club Karateka is awarded to the person who has excelled in their training. Prolific attendance, excellent standard, sustained improvement, excellent club spirit all of these are the qualities found in our Club Karateka.
It’s worth mentioning that excellent attendance and good etiquette are taken as basic elements when karateka are considered for these two awards.
