The aim of this site is to tell you a little about Sneyd Karate Club and the people who train there . The club was established in 1982. Our instructors are Sen.Mick Davis and Sen.Robert Mason. We are based in the centre of England. The style of karate we practise is Shotokan, although all styles are welcome to train with us. We are affiliated to the Amateur Shotokan Karate Association ( A.S.K.A ) who themselves are members of the English Karate Federation ( E.K.F )

We train at a community school. The school has as its motto ;
'In pursuit of excellence' . We think this makes an ideal motto for the Karate club too.

Not just a successful karate club take a look at some of our adventures in the outside the dojo page
What makes a successful Karate club? is it how many Black Belts you have? Is it the amount of trophies the club wins in a year? Is it the highest profile competition that one of its students wins? Or is it how technically excellent the standard of the club is. All of these things may be ingredients to success, but every club is nothing without the people who 'prop' the club up from the bottom. Those folks who diligently work away on the end of every line, in their track suits and t-shirts, or if we are lucky a second-hand Gi!!!. I refer of course to the vital key to every clubs success................ THE BEGINNER, THE WHITE BELT !!!!! The need to keep a constant supply of new folks is vital, new blood is the key to the long and successful existence of a karate clubSneyds family.
We've been fortunate at the 'Sneyd' , We've always been able to get the kids from the junior class to 'bully' their parents into training......As with any karate lesson the beginners start with a good warm up session, nothing like some press ups for getting the blood flowing, is there !!
